I am Anu Hakola, (b. 1995, Helsinki) a visual artist and landscape architect living between Finland and Italy.
In visual art, I emphasize the spaces of being, meaning and the connection of the inner mental landscape to the perceived and experienced external world. Here the boundaries blur into each other, forming an intimate entity and patterns, where there is no one, without the other.
I work mainly with pointillistic painting, characterized by sensitive perception and immersion in a particular place and space. The dots seem to disappear into the whole image created by memory and imagination. Each dot is an integral part of the painting as a whole, the dispersion and densification, the light and darkness, the vibrating translucency, where no two traces are the same. In this state I immerse myself in the repetition created by the brush strokes, which takes me into a world of constant observation and tranquility.
